Our insurance policy AIDWORKER provides you with comprehensive cover during your volunteer service. Your supporting organization will send you all information on your policy in good time prior to your trip. They will also inform you which tariffs have been purchased for you. You can choose from two different health insurance policies:
- The policy AIDWORKER24 is suitable for short-term stays of up to 24 months. The policy covers the treatment costs in case of acute illnesses. Preventive medical examinations, general check-ups, etc. are not covered by this policy.

- The policy AIDWORKER-PLUS is the right choice if you want to stay abroad for 24 months or more or if you want to have comprehensive cover for short stays.
The liability insurance policy AIDWORKER-H provides insurance cover for private and professional activities. The sum insured for bodily injury, property damage and financial loss is €3,000,000. Depending on the profession, we distinguish between the following tariffs:
Tariff AW-H1
People who carry out activities with a normal level of responsibility: missionaries, teachers, volunteering excluding care, etc.
Tariff AW-H2
People who carry out activities with a high level of responsibility: technicians, care professions, craftsmen, etc.
Tariff AW-H3
People who carry out activities with a very high level of responsibility: construction and project managers, doctors, etc.
Further information on AIDWORKER-HThe accident insurance policy AIDWORKER-U is tailored to the risks of employees abroad, in particular those in conflict areas. It provides comprehensive protection far beyond regular private accident insurance. Depending on which program you are in, your organization has selected one of three different combinations for you.
The assistance insurance policy AIDWORKER-AS provides you with protection and support in case of a loss of travel money and documents, in case of criminal prosecution, when you have to return to your home country due to an emergency or when family members join you in case of an emergency.
Only few organizations provide their volunteers with assistance insurance. For details, please refer to your insurance certificate.
Further information on AIDWORKER-ASIf you want to insure your baggage during outward and return journey and during your stay abroad, then the baggage insurance policy AIDWORKER-RG is the right solution for you.
Baggage insurance is usually not purchased for you by your organization. For details, please refer to your insurance certificate. If you want to have this additional protection, you can purchase it here at your own expense.
